I Love Teaching…

I’ve got to admit it; I love teaching almost as much as I love photography. It’s so cool to work with a group of students and watch them as they struggle to grasp a concept and then watch as the light comes on. WOW..that’s look in their eyes when they finally have that “Ah Ha” moment, the light comes on and they just “get it”.

This past spring I taught a class of twenty ladies who wanted to learn about maternity photography. We spent six evenings together shooting, chatting, and listening to some amazing photographer tell about their journey in photography. It was so good to watch their work get better and better each week that we met together. Since the class I’ve had the opportunity to meet with several of the ladies and chat about their work and respond to questions they had about photography….it’s been GREAT!

I really do believe in the concept of “paying it forward”, because in doing so we not only help others but also ourselves. You see..whenever you take the time to help someone it will always come back to you at some point in your life.

Please enjoy a short slideshow of some of the images the class took at one of our recent sessions together.

Teaching on Tuesday Evening….

This past Tuesday evening, Knoxville wedding and family photographer spent the evening teaching a group of twenty wonderful aspiring photographers a few things about photographing maternity portraits. We had a super time together, and one of the things that made the evening so nice were the five mom’s and dad’s to be who posed for the class…we absolutely could not have done the class without them. You guys were just wonderful…thank you seems like such a small word from all the time and effort you gave to the event…THANKS!

I didn’t have a lot of time to shoot because I was running from group to group helping and teaching…but I was able to grab a few quick snaps…this will give you an idea of our evening. I hope you enjoy them.
