While attending PPA in Nashville, I made a bit of a side trip to visit downtown Nashville…and of course I had to make a stop into Union Station. I’m so thankful that the city decided not to distory this beautiful landmark. When my dad was very young and heading off to serve in the AirForce he passed through this place. I took him here back in the spring and he actually remembered some of the place. It was wonderful watching him remember and reflect.

The phone rang…it was my oldest daughter Rebecca. “Are you guys busy? …. Great, Jeff, the boys and I are just a mile away and we have a gallon of ice-cream. You guys put on the brownies.” I’m so bless to have such a wonderful family. Max wanted to go down to the game room and play with the pool balls but then he noticed my camera set up in the studio…he pointed to the set and said “picture?” Well you know what I did. I grabbed the little guy up, put him on a stool and started shooting. He loves it when the big soft box goes off and then beeps. A few minutes later Carol brought Cooper down and sat him in the middle of the pool table…he and his brother had so much fun rolling the balls from one end of the table to another. We’ll Cooper can’t sit on a stool…so the softbox came to him…LOL.

While in Nashville for PPA Kortney and I decided to take a road-trip over to photographer’s toy story — Durry’s — just an amazing place to visit.
We spent time browsing and buying toys that we just couldn’t live with…we stayed there until our wallets were screaming, “enough, enough!!!”. After an adventure like that we really needed something for lunch…so we hit the GPS looking for something good yet something fast…we settled on a fast-food place and told the GPS to get us there. Driving down a side road we noticed a really small place surrounded by cars. We looked the place over and decided to give it a try.

Don’t judge a book by its cover really fits this place. Looking at it from the outside mades have second thoughts…but man I’m really glad that we decided to stop. The place is really small, there’s enough room to place an order and some barstools along the window ceils where you can sit and enjoy these amazing dogs. Out back there are some picnic tables..and because it was so cold they had enclosed the area with plastic and heated the place with a gas heater…it was a super place to enjoy lunch.
When it was our turn we were greeted at the counter by some of the most amazing ladies I met in a long time. They really were glad that we had come for lunch. They welcomed us, helped us understand the many different selections and served us with beautiful smiles. What a refreshing change from the many other places I been to lately. We were confronted with a list of selections that ranged from a basic dog to a dog covered with everything you can imagine. Oh..did I mention the fries. WOW! The fries were just amazing…cooked to order and really crispy.
I’m so jealous of the folks who live in Nashville and have access to this wonderful lunch spot. I’m really looking forward to heading back over to Nashville … because I now know of one of the most amazing places in town to eat. Next time you’re in town head on over to Hot Diggity Dog..you’ll have a great lunch and a fun time chatting with some wonderful people.

Phone rang the other night and it was Emily asking if I had time to create some senior portraits to use in her school yearbook. I told her that Expressions is always ready to create amazing photos for her. So we set up a time to meet and the game was on….we had a super time together..but I’ve gotta say the best part was when she brought in her beautiful golden Sally. Emily’s a beautiful young lady.
